Course Description

DevOps is a set of practices that combines software development (Dev) and IT operations (Ops) to shorten the systems development life cycle and provide continuous delivery with high software quality. This course will introduce you to the core principles and practices of DevOps, including version control, continuous integration, infrastructure as code, containerization, and continuous deployment.

  • Docker: An open platform for developing, shipping, and running applications inside containers.
  • Kubernetes: An open-source container orchestration platform for automating the deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications.

• Week 2 Version Control Systems

  • Introduction to Git and GitHub:
  • Git: Version control software that enables multiple developers to collaborate on projects efficiently.
  • GitHub: A web-based hosting service for version control using Git, providing features like pull requests, code review, and issue tracking.

• Week 3 Continuous Integration (CI)

  • Introduction to CI/CD concepts:
  • Continuous Integration (CI): Practice of automating the integration of code changes from multiple contributors into a shared repository.
  • Setting up a basic CI pipeline with GitHub Actions:
  • GitHub Actions: Automate workflows directly within GitHub repositories, including building, testing, and deploying applications.

• Week 4 Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

• Week 6 Container Orchestration with Kubernetes

• Week 7 Monitoring and Logging
